I did the next 70K miles to bring it to 134,000. Most of the miles were on the M40 on my 40-miles-a-day round trip, plus UK family holidays. I’ve had it Toyota serviced throughout most of it’s life, apart from a couple of services with Halfords Autocentres. Loads of paperwork from the servicing and MOTs. The D4D 2.2 is the top of the range Avensis – leather seats, sat nav, cruise control, air con, CD player, electric seats. It’s got good tyres, I recently had the brakes done (new pads and discs), recently gave her a new battery and she always starts and gets me where I want to be. She’ll be sadly missed, but I’ve recently got a new job with a car company, who have given me a company car, so I’m writing this ad. She’s got an MOT from January. She’s not quite as pretty as she was: the paintwork has scratches on it and marks from my kids hands when they were covered in sun tan lotion, and she looks a bit like a high mileage car- don’t expect new-car-showroom condition. But none of the scratches have gone rusty, and I haven’t worried about them as the car has been a reliable A-B machine. I took some pictures of the marks on a very sunny day so you could see them in the photos, but they don’t normally stand out so much. There’s a bit of a water leak from the cooling system too – I’ve kept it topped up, but I haven’t had it done cos I’ve got the new car. This may be the head gasket occasionally pushing water out of the coolant system – I honestly don’t know, but seems fair to mention it, and this is why it’s a lot cheaper than similar cars of this age and mileage. So, a nine-year old Avensis, mostly Toyota serviced, mostly motorway miles, good tyres, brakes, engine and battery, cheaper than the average. Re-listing due to timewasters.
